Dirty Uniforms, Clean Success: Trust Collegiate Cleaners!

Batter up!  Touchdown!  Safe!  For many parents, there is an overwhelming sense of joy watching their children play sports.  The not so joyful part are the stains that accompany the amazing plays that have us out of our seats.  The uniform selection committee loves to torture us with white uniform bottoms in the laundry room and dirt and grass stains can be intimidating.  How do you remove the stain and keep those white uniforms white?  Never fear!  Collegiate Cleaners is here to help.  Below we are leaving you a few tips to help keep uniforms looking crisp and clean.

  1. Always check your care labels.  The method you use to clean white uniform pants is not necessarily the method to clean the rest of your uniform or colored uniforms.  We’ll add that to our list of blog topics and cover another day.
  2. Don’t delay.  Take care of dirty uniforms as quickly as possible.  You do not want stains or odor to set in the fabric.
  3. Remove any loose dirt, grass, etc.
  4. Pretreat stains with a little baking soda and vinegar; or you can use a little dish soap detergent.  Be sure to use a white cloth and clean towards the inside of the stain to prevent spreading.  Don’t rub too hard.
  5. Presoak your garments in a over the counter product like Oxi Clean or you can use dishwashing powder.  Allow to soak for an hour.
  6. Machine was in accordance with care label.
  7. Hang to dry or use a drying rack.
