Patrick Foley said, “Retirement is a blank sheet of paper. It is a chance to redesign your life into something new and different.” We work for decades focused on ‘the prize’ of retirement. There’s a certain pressure that goes with wondering if social security will remain in tact and if you have truly saved/invested enough outside any pension or retirement plan distributions for which you may be entitled.
We’ve heard for years about the financial stress that accompanies retirement and many have taken the necessary steps to ensure financial woes aren’t a factor. But, what happens to the worker bee? What happens to the active retiree who no longer wants to punch the proverbial timeclock at work; but, wants something new and different to occupy the time not taken up with hobbies and family fun?
Many retirees may not consider the other options that exist. Do you ever wonder why you are seeing more retirement aged employees at the local checkout counter? Or, what about the individual driving the shuttle for a local hotel or car dealership? Maybe they are looking for a way to add additional activity to their day. Maybe they appreciate the social interaction. This is why the idea of redesigning your life after retirement can be exciting. An opportunity exists to do something new and different.
At Collegiate Cleaners, we are looking for that active, fit, English speaking retiree with a valid drivers license who is interested in part time work driving the company van for our pickup and delivery service.
If this is not you, maybe you have a grandparent, parent or neighbor who would benefit from additional activity each day. We have two locations to serve Houstonians in Rice Village and in the River Oaks/Upper Kirby area. If interested, please contact Greg at 281.387.8100.
