Social media has heightened our awareness related to the importance of excellence in customer service and quality. As consumers, we still struggle with the some times daunting task of finding businesses that meet our needs. Dry Cleaners are included in a long list of service industry businesses needed to help support our household and work ventures.
We believe it is important to ensure you are selecting a dry cleaner who focuses on service and quality. Building a relationship of trust, which can carry you forward for years to come. Let’s walk through some considerations for selecting a dry cleaner as you focus on obtaining quality and service.
Dry Cleaner Expertise
All dry cleaners are not created equal. Do your homework. A few things to consider:
Fabric Expertise
Now that you’ve narrowed down your selection, consider the expertise of the Dry Cleaners you are vetting. The ability to properly understand the dynamics of fabrics and how they react to wet washing, dry cleaning etc is paramount in selecting a reputable dry cleaner. Fabric care is an art. Although care labels are the guide needed to follow manufacturers guidelines for cleaning, they do not come with the expertise that accompanies experience. Properly handling the myriad of fabrics that flow through a Dry Cleaners door is imperative to ensure fine garments, linens and bedding is handled properly. Dry Cleaners should have the expertise and available resources to discuss your fabric questions and concerns to put your mind at ease.
Stain Identification and Removal
A top-notch Dry Cleaner will understand the identification and removal of stains is of prime importance to providing quality service to customers. We believe the process to treat stains begins the minute the garment is in the Dry Cleaners hands. Reviewing each garment for stains and clearly marking stains for the processing expert to assess and remove, sets the stage for a positive outcome. The processing expert must have knowledge of fabrics and stains to ensure stains are removed with precision and care. Unfortunately, there are some stains that cannot be removed without further damaging the fabric of garments. However, your dry cleaner should be able to identify these stains and notify you or discuss with you to ensure a clear understanding of why a stain cannot be removed. As a consumer, you should feel comfortable having these conversations and asking the questions of your dry cleaner.
Quality Controls
As part of the intake process, Dry Cleaners are checking for stains, damage to fabric, missing buttons, cracked buttons, etc. This is the first check in a series of checks to ensure a pristine finished product is delivered to the consumer. After pre-treatment of stains and garments are cleaned, an additional quality check to ensure stain removal should take place. Additionally, at the point garments move on to the next cycle i.e. pressing they should be checked again for stains, missing buttons etc. At the point a missed stain, button, etc is identified, garments should be pulled and reviewed for further cleaning, repair etc. The final check occurs at the point of assembly of all cleaned items, the final check should occur to ensure cracked or missing buttons are replaced, stains removed etc.
